Part of a series in renewal energy technologies
brought by M/s Paavi Solar
Solar energy is the essence of
Life. Solar radiation comprises of light and heat and is beneficial for mankind
in more than one way. Traditionally men used solar energy for drying of clothes
and drying/preservation of food/spice and as a disinfectant. But with the huge
advancement in solar energy research, this field is throwing ample
opportunities in the growing energy sector. Moreover, thermal storage technologies have
grown exponentially and is aiding the use of solar energy during off solar
hours.
Solar energy is an essential source
of renewable energies apart from wind, tidal, biomass, biofuel, biogas, geothermal
etc. Ever-expanding efficient technologies in Solar Photovoltaics, Solar
heating, solar thermal energy uses, solar architecture (Used for
heating/cooling and natural air circulation apart from natural lighting), solar
power plants using thermal storage with PCMs (Phase Change Materials) and heat
exchangers have provided mankind with tools for sustainable development.
Sun, our beloved Sun God in many religions, provides
us with so much energy in one hour which man does not use in one year. Most of
the sun’s energy (Approx. 71 %) is absorbed by the earth's surface and oceans and used
by Plants and Animals for food production and development respectively.
Essentially life on earth is directly connected with Sun and its energy.
Solar
energy is being used in many more fields than stated above. We will concentrate
on Solar Photovoltaics for now and learn about different available and coming technologies
which is making the world of solar photovoltaics very efficient, easy to use,
interesting and very economical with very competitive pricing to fossil fuel
generated electricity.
Let
us start a journey towards a better future.
